Nope, I'm not narcissistic.
That little paragraph's from a Hallmark card I received on my 18th birthday (thanks xinhui, heh
heh).
This blog serves only to update people who know and care about me.
Nothing extremely serious or personal will be posted here. Any malicious creature looking to take a dig at me won't
find anything worthy of their time here. Better luck elsewhere.

More on that and Greece another time though.
Right now it's been exactly a week since I settled at Oestrich-Winkel. It's a really quiet town by the Rhine river where everything is closed on the weekends. It's quite quaint looking and it's surrounded by vineyards. I really like it! My house is very woody and you've got to climb small wooden steps to get to certain rooms. I wake up every morning feeling like i'm in a different time zone. :) The town itself is pretty boring but we had a huge party at the nearby town of Hallgarten on Friday night. 'Near' is relative - it's 40 mins if you walk but we got a lift from one of the french guys to the party although we had to walk back home. I spent the night at my neighbour's - 2 french girls and one spanish-bolivian girl.
Yesterday I went to the city(town?) of Wiesbaden with Farah and Susan. They're my classmates from the German class. We had SO much bad luck yesterday it was incredible. The trains here arrive on the dot so Farah and I had to run to avoid missing the train. It's very much like back in the US - the next train only comes in an hour. We arrived as the train was about to leave and we didn't have time to even buy the ticket from the machine. We didn't want to wait one freaking hour so we hopped on anyway. The train conducters come by very frequently here and I think they fine people if they don't have valid tickets. So we hid in the toilet and I swear the people sitting near the toilet probably thought we were horny lesbians. It was the longest train ride I've had in my life and my heart jumped every time somebody tries to open the door. But it was so hilarious and it saved us 3.30euros!
It was relatively quiet in Wiesbaden because it was the weekend (strange isn't it?). We spent the afternoon shopping at H&M and chatting at an italian restaurant where we ordered in german and the guy was pretty impressed. We tried calling Susan's cellphone but we didn't have her number and the poor girl probably thought we abandoned her. We went a whole round through Kelvin and Haejin and when we finally got Susan she was about to catch the train home. We felt terrible about making her wait so we bought her dinner at an Asian place and when we finally boarded the train home, Susan and I missed our stop at Oestrich-Winkel because we were so tired we weren't paying attention! The next train back was 2 hrs later *gasp* so we ended up at Rudesheim with Farah. We tried taking a bus back but we missed that as well! In the end we attempted to take a taxi back to Oestrich but it was freaking 40euros! I almost died when I heard it so Susan and I walked back to the train station and when i finally got home, it was 11.30pm. More next time.
